1984
In late 1984 Billy had a 5-valve bypass heart operation.
1985-86
In February 1985 Billy returned to Scotland when he made a BBC Radio appearance and also had spots in Scottish Television.  On his return to Australia, Billy remained with 2BCR-FM although, owning to other work commitments, he reduced radio broadcasts with the station to 3 days weekly plus a one-hour show on Monday nights.
1987
Billy continued as a presenter with 2BCR-FM until June, as well as appearing on television and touring with his new stage production, “Sounds of Scotland”, throughout the Sydney Metropolitan area in all major venues.  The show then toured throughout Southern New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.
At the end of June, Billy took of the position of Director of the Burdekin Theatre in Ayr, North Queensland, a position which he held for 15 years.
1994
Billy has a second, 5-valve heart bypass operation.
2003
Billy moved to the Gold Coast.
2007-Present
Billy appointed as Front of House Manager and Jazz Co-Ordinator at the Gold Coast Arts Centre, Surfer’s Paradise, Queensland.
