BILLY’S FAREWELL CELEBRATION, 23 MAY 2013

Gentle reader, Billy had a quiet, private cremation.  However, a Celebration of the life of Billy Raymond was held in the Paradise Room at the Gold Coast Arts Centre on Thursday 23rd May at 11 a.m.  

A lone piper played “Amazing Grace”, which gave way to the comedy of Kenny Bennett, Kiri Adams singing “The Way We Were” and a jazz quartet performing in honour of Billy's time as jazz co-ordinator on the coast.

Grateful thanks go to Kelvin Cordell and all staff at the Gold Coast Arts Centre for giving Billy such a wonderful send-off.

At Billy’s last request, Graeme Crouch, who managed Billy’s last Queensland tour in February 2013, sprinkled his ashes outside the stage door of the Gold Coast Arts Centre on Thursday 6 June 2013.
