AGONY - WITHOUT THE ECSTASY
Well, obviously I’ve survived the nightmare of having my left kidney removed, just a couple of weeks before Christmas, but it wasn’t the usual kind of “Merry” one that normally I would have done - juste a ‘few’ glasses {or should that read TUMBLERS? Of Scotch to soothe my fevered brow and deaden the pain - OK, “Camille” - forget the drama!!! I spent the time with good friends who wanted a ‘quieter’ Christmas Day than usual, but I did envy them slipping in and out of their lovely pool on what was a typical Aussie Christmas Day, but I was afraid to dive in, just in case it wouldn’t have been very helpful to the wound, with chlorine in the water, so I resisted temptation!
Talking of the ‘would’, a lovely friend from the Gold Coast Arts Centre with whom I worked for over two years, Di, asked me if she could take some pics for the staff to see, as they’d clubbed together and sent me, via Di, a beautiful gift of some ‘goodies’ and here are pictures of the gift and a couple of other ‘photies’ of me just after the op. Actually, there is a fourth pic, but may I suggest that, if you don’t like the horror movies, you will NOT like it, so don’t look, as I don’t want “tae pit yiz aff yer tea” - awright well, hiv a wee keek - and don’t blame if your fish-suppers get cold!
I’m beginning to get a wee bit weary and when I sit for too long it’s not easy to get up, so I’ll finish while I’m in front and I will write again as soon as I can and have got back to my usual cheerful self. Just as well - I’ve re-read this - and the next one will HAVE TO BE BETTER!
Cheers to all, Billy
