In a circular letter to his family and friends dated 13 December 1990, Billy told us:  “The past year at the Theatre has seen a full range of the Arts coming through the Complex ... Ballet, light opera, classical music recitals, plays and variety shows (which I love!!) and, as they always used to say when I was performing ... “We’ve ‘ad ‘em all ‘ere you know.”  Some of the performers we’ve had here in the past three years include Roger Woodward, Rolf Harris, Andy Stewart, Australian Dance Theatre, Lyric Opera of Queensland, Kamahl, Barry Crocker, Col Joye, Dance North, TN Theatre ... And the list just goes on ... And on!!

Billy enjoyed a short break at Cairns over the Christmas period before returning to the Burdekin for the New Year’s Eve ‘bash’ as he put it.  Attendance was restricted to 160 people although there were 1,000 in the Forecourt for the fireworks display and entertainment at Midnight.
