Billy had been considering going into theatre management or agency artist casting for some time, knowing that by now he knew virtually every star artist in the Australian theatre and in the variety business. Little did he know that, before the end of the decade, he would be into theatre management and on the verge of a casting agency when he went to the Burdekin Theatre, where he brought to the venue stars, not only Aussie performers, but world renowned performers from opera, ballet, drama, modern dance and, of course, his personal favourite genre, variety.
